What must you release to rise?
“The price of your new life is your old life.” Anonymous
What Do I Have to Give Up to Go Up?
You’re not stuck, you’re full.
Most “successful” people don’t hit a talent ceiling…
They hit a capacity ceiling.
To grow into the next version of yourself, it’s not about doing more.
It’s about releasing what no longer fits.
What Might You Need to Let Go Of?
1. Stories
“I have to do it all myself.”
“Busy = valuable.”
“If I slow down, I’ll fall behind.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“Money is scarce.”
These stories helped you survive or succeed…
but now they create stress or limitation.
2. Habits
Saying yes when you mean no
Checking your phone 100x a day
Overscheduling your time
Not asking for help
Habits are just old strategies.
Some of them expired years ago.
3. Roles & Identities
The reliable one
The fixer
The high achiever who never needs help
The lone wolf
“I’ve got it all together”
These identities made you strong…
But they also keep you from receiving support, freedom, or authenticity.
4. Relationships
Which relationships give you energy?
Which ones drain you?
Do the people around you support your growth, or keep you where you are?
Some relationships were perfect for a past season of your life.
That doesn’t mean they’re meant for the next one.
If it drains you more than it grows you… it’s costing you.
5. Environments
The city you live in. Workplaces. Social circles. Physical spaces.
Your environments can expand you or shrink you. Where do you spend your time, what might need to shift there?
6. Distractions
Netflix. Scrolling. Staying “busy.”
Easy dopamine that keeps you from deeper work, deeper rest, deeper purpose.
Distraction is often disguised avoidance.
The Shift
Growth isn’t adding more.
Growth can be subtraction to create space and then mindfully putting something into that space.
You might choose to take a step back in order to take 2 steps forward.
Keep going.
